At a glance

  • Catching, hooking and simply seeing fish are different starting events.
  • MyHora gives 88 and 78 for catching, and 18 and 68 for fishing.
  • TrueID and ThaiRath add species, size and count categories; comparisons need matching conditions.
  • Clear sources make information checkable without guaranteeing the prediction.

Were you catching the fish yourself, or watching it swim? The memories may feel close, but a dream guide can put them in different categories. Catching by hand and hooking a fish may also lead to different interpretations.

We compare MyHora, TrueID and ThaiRath to show how action, species, size and count shape their accounts. Number examples remain linked to their sources. If you cannot remember the species, there is no need to invent one; and fortune in these stories can mean more than a lottery prize.

Before reading the guides

Catching by hand, hooking a fish and simply seeing one may have different interpretations.

Fish imagery in interpretations

MyHora’s catching category describes fortune or possessions, while its fishing category addresses a fish caught on a hook. Similar-looking dreams therefore begin with different details.

Recall the main action: catching, watching or releasing fish. You do not need an answer to every detail, but should not revise a remembered scene to obtain a preferred interpretation.

Different scenes give different number sets

MyHora’s catching examples include 88 and 78; fishing includes 18 and 68. These are that guide’s belief associations, not an analysis identifying which set is more likely.

When comparing another article, match the subheading first. Combining every species and event into one list removes the purpose of the guide’s categories.

A dream story can be enough on its own

People remember different details: a watercourse, fish colours or simply a good feeling. Those personal stories can have value without a number attached.

Record feelings alongside events, and put published interpretations in another part of the record. This makes clear what you dreamed and what you read afterwards.

Start with catching, angling or seeing

Identify what happened. Catching may involve hands or tools; angling involves a hook and waiting. Holding a rod without seeing a fish caught is not a successful catch. Adding success changes the original story and can move the interpretation to another heading.

If you saw fish swimming in a canal without catching them, retain seeing fish even if a catching heading has an appealing prediction. Also distinguish catching yourself from watching someone else catch. The setting may be the same while the dreamer’s role differs.

The three sources describe different levels of detail

MyHora distinguishes catching from hooking. TrueID covers general fish, many fish, large fish and species. The ThaiRath page emphasises species and includes a case with unclear details. A general catching set and a snakehead-specific set should not immediately be declared contradictory.

Our table identifies examples within their categories and explains each source’s organisation. We do not adopt a publisher’s strong accuracy language as Annlek’s conclusion: the consulted pages do not supply testing methods establishing those claims. We can verify the wording, not its fulfilment for every reader.

Name a species only when you actually remember it

ThaiRath distinguishes snakehead, catfish and eels, and TrueID also adds species headings. Some publishers therefore make species an interpretive condition. Dreamers may not remember enough to identify it; that is not a failure to tell the story.

If you recall a long shape or dark colour, record that instead of confidently naming an eel. Real species can resemble each other, and a dream need not look like a photograph. A note such as one dark fish in water, species unknown, allows general and species-specific information to remain distinct.

Many fish and a large fish describe different dimensions

A pond full of fish and one very large fish are different scenes. TrueID separates quantity and size into different headings. If you remember many fish but not their size, write that down first. Keeping the details separate helps you choose a relevant heading without combining every number list.

Many can remain an approximate impression. Record a group or repeated catches and identify what you could not count. Reconstructing an exact count for a number list changes the starting memory. Links between count and fortune remain the publisher’s storytelling, not a verified prize calculation.

Successful catches, escaping fish and watching from a distance

Record a successful catch separately from an attempt. If a fish slipped away, retain the sequence rather than deleting a part to fit a heading. This is a recording suggestion, not a new prediction that escape means losing money or work.

An aquarium and open water may carry different scenes or feelings. You can retain the setting even if a guide has no exact category for it. The absence of a matching prediction does not remove the dream’s meaning or require creating numbers from the number of tanks or locations.

Compare numbers without moving categories

MyHora’s catching examples are 88 and 78, while hooking includes 18 and 68. TrueID’s general seeing-or-catching list includes 85 and 87. Preserve both repeats and differences under their actual headings instead of describing the combined list as one fish tradition.

Keep 08 as two digits when quoting TrueID’s large-fish heading. Reversing it to 80 or adding other reversals is your own extension, not the original information. Accurate formatting makes checking easier but does not increase predictive accuracy or turn website counts into probabilities.

Fortune in fish narratives means more than lottery results

Some ThaiRath species interpretations concern news, possessions or occupational support. Read the full sentence rather than reducing every mention of fortune to prize money. Connecting the story with current work is the dreamer’s reflection, not a guarantee that the work will succeed.

NHLBI explains that dreams usually occur in REM without assigning meanings to animal species. You can record recent cooking, fish images or visits involving water as personal context, then keep guide interpretations separately. Both context and belief can enrich a story without becoming an instruction to spend on numbers.

Questions & answers

Further answers to questions that often arise when reading this topic

Do catching fish and fishing use the same interpretation?

MyHora uses separate headings: catching examples 88 and 78, and hooked-fish examples 18 and 68. Describe the action and whether a catch occurred rather than treating fish as one complete scene.

References[1]

Does failing to catch a fish mean losing fortune?

We do not create predictions for every scene absent from the sources. Record an unsuccessful attempt as such; do not turn it into success or immediately conclude lost opportunity. Disappointment is part of the story, not information about future results.

What should I search if I cannot remember the species?

Start with seeing or catching fish and the remembered event. ThaiRath includes a case with unclear fish details. Do not choose snakehead or eel from an uncertain shape, because that introduces another interpretation condition.

References[3]

Do many fish mean more fortune than one?

TrueID uses count and size in its belief narrative, but the consulted page does not provide testing that turns this into a calculation. We identify the condition without confirming that real fortune must increase with count.

References[2]

Are 88 and 78 prize statistics?

No. They are examples in MyHora’s catching-fish dream category. We have not calculated their prize frequencies or probabilities. Label dream-guide numbers separately from statistical data.

References[1]

Should the zero in the large-fish example 08 remain?

Yes, when quoting TrueID’s two-digit example. Writing 8 obscures the format. Reversing it to 80 adds another set and should not be attributed as the same original information.

References[2]

Do fish dreams also have work-related interpretations?

Some sources include them. MyHora discusses work and possessions in catching content, and ThaiRath associates some species with occupational matters. Fortune should not always be reduced to a prize, but these remain belief predictions rather than assessments of a person’s work.

References[1][3]

What should I record for a fair multi-guide comparison?

Record the action, confidently known species, remembered count or size and uncertainties. Add the website and exact heading separately. This reveals whether differences arise from scenes or publishers’ systems and lets you check sources without rewriting memory.
